The 2002 ZX-9R was a model-year update of Kawasaki's 899 cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder sportbike. Changes over the earlier generation included a new tail section, a top-braced swingarm and revised front brakes. It kept the DOHC four, the Uni-Trak rear suspension and the 6-speed gearbox.
